I got the opportunity to meet part of the wonderful Sarver family! Any American Idol fans out there? You all know what an AI Junky I am! And from the beginning I loved Michael, never dreaming I’d have the chance to meeet or get to know them. Well Michael Sarver is in LA preparing for the upcoming Idol Tour (which I am going to see in Dallas! Yay!) and is away from his amazing family for Father’s Day, so to surprise him, his wife and kids came out for a session and sent him an album. From what I hear, he loved it and was completely surprised! They have given me permission to post them and share with all of you.
Tiffany - you are so sweet, it was a pleasure to meet you and the kids, and I look forward to the next time! Prayers for your family while he’s away….

Well, that’s what his daddy calls him. Baby Jackson has grown up so fast right before my lens. I have photographed him since he was a newborn and we designed his birth announcements! Now he’s coming up on two years old! I can’t believe how fast time flies!
I was in New York recently and knew I had a session coming up with him. Ashton and I went into the BIGGEST Toys R Us I’ve ever seen, and we went to the M&M and candy floor there and I saw these giant lollipops and told her I have to get one for Jackson’s session! And boy did his eyes light up with he saw that big sucker :) We saved it for last but it was worth it. He loved it…..
Here are a few of my faves from his session, enjoy!

Kim and Chance came down from Dallas for their engagement session. I first met Kim when she was a bridesmaid in 2004 or 2005 (my memories are running together now) at a wedding in Galveston. I then saw her a year or so later at another wedding, as a bridesmaid. Those two brides did not know each other! Then she attended another wedding I photographed, so when she got engaged a couple months back she emailed me right away! It was so good to see HER as the bride this time! And her man, Chance, is just a sweetheart! We had a blast on their session. Kim has family roots in the East Texas area and she really wanted some of the Piney Woods in her pics. So we went to the lake and the National Forrest.

OMG - FUN is the best word to describe what you get when the Harvey kids get together! What a FABULOUS group of kids they are! I don’t know when I have laughed SO much during a session, but I’m sure at the time I did this session it was a much needed thing. It was not long after my father in law passed away and there wasn’t much to laugh at in the world. But Isaiah and his awesome family were just what I needed, and I thank you guys!
This was a Mother’s Day present for their mom - I know she has to be proud of them all.

I have not been able to upload images to the blog for weeks now. I figured out tonight that it was a Firefox issue, but works with Internet Explorer. SO here is plenty for you to look at. First Miss Kristyn …. A Central Senior. I love to photograph girls with horses and she had a couple

It’s been a long, tough almost 3 months since my father in law passed away. Our family has made so many changes and dealt with so issues in that short amount of time that I haven’t had time to keep up with blogging. Over the next few days I’ll try to post some of the 25 or so sessions and 6 or 7 weddings that I haven’t had time to post sneak peeks of.
Among those changes we moved out to the “country”. Now, our girls have been raised in neighborhoods, with sidewalks, and cul de sacs and tiny yards. When we came in for my mother in laws funeral two years ago, a friend from Angleton came with us to watch the girls while we did all the family stuff involved in funerals. She took them down to the pond on the family land and said “Do you girls like to come down here to fish?” and Ashton’s response was “Miss Amber! We are CITY girls, NOT country girls! We don’t fish or hunt!”
What a difference moving from a subdivided neighborhood to the open fields Burke, Texas makes…. both girls run around in their rubber boots now, wade in the pond, they play outside most of the day (thank goodness they have something to do besides watch Disney Channel and play Wii or computer games), and get to ride their bikes and go-carts all over without worry of traffic or strangers. Ashton even begged for her first pair of cowboy boots. She has decided she DOES want to be a country girl now. Jenna just likes to be outside, she doesn’t care where.
Me - I was raised in the country and have been feeling so nostalgic, maybe because of losing two wonderful parents in such a short amount of time, I’m really ready to get back to some grassroots family living. We’ve even planted a garden (late in the year I know, but we’ll see what happens). So I’m actually thinking of starting a personal blog to chronicle our Green Acres Experience so as to keep this studio blog pertinent to the studio. Then you can read about my lovely experience with the snake in the garage and the rats that are bigger than our kittens and other fun happenings around here.
I have started started working on the portrait park here. I will post some pics as soon as we get more done. So stay tuned! Lots of sneak peeks coming to catch you up with what we’ve been doing, I promise we are still here working our tails off, we just haven’t had time to stop and keep you updated.
Happy Graduation to all our Seniors! And I look forward to the new Class of 2010!
Lauren is one of our Four Seasons seniors. Everytime she comes in I just laugh so much, you just can’t help it around her :D This session she was feeling adventurous and wanted a session at the pond and by the plane. So we did both. Now, when I was a senior I don’t recall exactly what size I wore, but I’m sure I was bigger than I was in the 8th grade. The dress by the plane, I’m told, Lauren wore to her 8th grade prom or homecoming dance! Anyway, it worked out beautifully for this session! Thanks so much for coming in again Lauren, I look forward to your next session to finish out your Four Seasons!

I’m so excited that I’ve gotten to meet so many people from other towns this year! Kayla came from Center. This is another Rodeo Queen (I’ve seemed to have lots of cowgirls this year), but she didn’t want any more portraits with her horse, so we kept it pretty simple and focused on her. Her big sis Barbara came along and made a great Reflector Girl! It always helps when a friend or family member tags along to help out with reflector, but we also got to see a little more of her sweet personality with sister in tow :) Kayla and Barbara - it was so nice to meet both of you and I hope you have a blast in Hawaii! Eat a coconut or something like that for me while you’re there

We’ve had several students come in this year from Huntington, my Alma Mater. It’s always interesting to see who’s kid is graduating that I knew way back then :D We found out I played basketball with Regan’s Aunt Amy back then. Thanks for coming in Regan - You had a great session!
